London in 2 days with kids

London is where I was born, raised & worked! I moved to the US 12yrs ago for love. We go back often with our American kiddos to visit our family but we feel it is important they understand their parents country we always take them on adventures round our homeland!

If you only have 2 days in London, here are my recommendations all tried & tested by my crew!

Hotels

Covent Garden Hotel or The Edition London. Both centrally located my friends have stayed with their families and loved!

Day 1

  • Buckingham Palace, don’t bother with interior tour but just enjoy the outside and  hopefully catch changing of the guard (around 10.45am - 11.15am)

  • Walk up Pall Mall to Trafalgar Square, take a quick walk round the National Portrait Gallery which is free entry.

  • Walk or Black Taxi to Covent Garden. Highly recommend lunch at BalthazarPetersham Nurseries or Homeslice Pizza Covent Garden

  • Covent Garden is amazing for all the family, their are amazing street entertainers and the architecture and ambiance is amazing. There are some good shops. Bobbi Brown try an appt with Amelia, Arket, Charlotte Tilbury & Shop at Blue Bird

  • There is a fun British Transport Museum in Covent Garden that the under 10s will love.

  • Have dinner in Covent Garden at The Ivy or a taxi or uber for dinner at Kettners or Brasserie Zedel

Day 2

  • Visit Borough Market so many foods all the traders are so nice. My kids & their friends loved it!

  • From Borough Market walk along the Thames to Head to the London Eye (around 29mins walk). The walk is magnificent and great way to admire and soak in London. Take pit stop at Tate Modern Museam, the building alone is superb but they always have free collection displays.

  • On your walk you will walk past Shakespeare’s Globe, so brilliant to have it in central London.

  • There are many pubs along the walk just in case you need to hydrate!

  • London Eye is a must if it is your first time visiting London, there is a super playground called Jubilee Gardens a 5 minute walk from London Eye & Sea Life London Aquarium is located just next to London Eye.

  • Afternoon Tea was a big part of my life. I love Tea, Cakes & Sandwiches at Sketch or Claridges

  • Evening catch a Theatre Production, Matilda, Big The Musical, Mama Mia or Harry Potter. Dine before the theatre at Bocca Di Lupa or Kettners

Shopping

My three favorite shopping temples:

Harrods, Liberty’s & Selfridges

That is a jam packed 2 days, hope you find this helpful. I am always found sipping cocktails after a busy day in London with my kiddos!

We would love to know your London family recommendations?
